  8. This diskette contains the Windows 3.1 BETA drivers version 2.04E.  These
  9. drivers correct most of the outstanding Windows 3.1 driver issues.  If you
  10. have any problems with these drivers, please send a fax describing the
  11. problem in detail to:

  18. Manual Installation Procedures
  19. ______________________________
  20.  
  21. The four .EXE files contain all the driver files.  
  22.  
  23. SHARED.EXE     contains file compatible with both 3.0 and 3.1 releases.
  24. WIN30DRV.EXE   contains Windows 3.0 specific files.  
  25. WIN31DRV.EXE   contains Windows 3.1 specific files.
  26. WININST.EXE    contains Windows Install files.

  29.      Windows 3.0:
  30.      ------------
  31.      1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV as the destination directory
  32.         for the drivers.  The Install application WILL NOT run properly
  33.         unless the Windows drivers are located in the <Path>\WIN30DRV
  34.         sub-directory.
  35.  
  36.      2. Create the new directory if it does not already exist. 
  37.         (Example:       MD C:\SS24X <Enter>)
  38.                         MD C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)

  40.      3. Extract the WIN30DRV.EXE file to the new directory.
  41.         (Example:  A:WIN30DRV.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)

  43.      4. Extract the SHARED.EXE file to the new directory.
  44.         (Example:  A:SHARED.EXE C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV <Enter>)

  46.      5. Extract the WININST.EXE file to the parent directory.
  47.         (Example:  A:WININST.EXE C:\SS24X <Enter>)

  49.      6. Verify operation of your Windows 3.0 installation in standard VGA
  50.         mode (640x480x16) before continuing installation.

  52.      7. From the Windows Program Manager, choose:
  53.      
  54.         File
  55.         Run
  56.         C:\SS24X\INSTALL <Enter>
  57.        
  58.      8. This will start the SpeedStar 24X INSTALL application and allow
  59.         you to select the desired resolution and colors.
  60.  
  61.      9. If you the INSTALL program cannot find the desired driver, or if 
  62.         you choose to INSTALL NEW, the INSTALL program will prompt you to
  63.         enter the path where the Windows 3.0 drivers for your SpeedStar 24X
  64.         can be found. At this prompt type:

  66.         C:\SS24X\WIN30DRV
  67.  
  68.      10. The DIAMOND icon will be copied to a DIAMOND group in Windows.

  71.      Windows 3.1:
  72.      ------------
  73.      1. This example will use C:\SS24X\WIN31DRV as the destination directory
  74.         for the drivers.  The Install application WILL NOT run properly
